Alcúdia is a main tourist centre on the island of Majorca. Apart from the nearby sandy beaches the main tourist attraction is the Hidropark, as well as being home to Hotetur Bellevue complex, the largest holiday resort in Europe. Every Sunday and Tuesday there is a market in the old town of Alcudia.
Alcudia "the old town" is well worth a visit as it is boxed inside medieval walls with lots of history, whilst Port d'Alcudia has now outgrown the town Alcudia. It was originally a small fishing port, it is now the biggest resort on the northeast coast.
The hotels offer the main source of entertainment for visitors however, you will find nightlife in Alcudia, particularly around the Dollar Street area which is located in the centre of the resort. Here you will find international bars, English style pubs, German beer gardens and a number of traditional Spanish Tapas bars. Many of the British pubs are run by Brits and they serve real ale on tap as well as the usual selection of international lagers and beers. As you would expect, many British bars show English football and entertain guests with quizzes, bingo and karaoke whilst they feed you with good old English grub!
It won't take you long to discover that Alcudia nightlife also includes a Scottish bar, an Irish bar and a number of themed bars geared towards entertaining families. Alcudia nightlife is definately family orientated and with the exception of a disco or two, does not offer the full-on-all-night party that you will find elsewhere on the island.
